Premier League Game Week 32

The weekend starts with the early kick-off between Newcastle United and Tottenham at St. James’ Park. Tottenham currently sit in 4th and will be desperate to hold off the challenge of Aston Villa, who are just behind them on goal difference.

In contrast, Newcastle could overtake Manchester United in 6th and enhance their European football qualification prospects. With both teams fond of playing attacking football, the game is likely to be a popular football betting fixture.

Manchester City could finish Saturday as league leaders if they beat Luton Town at home. However, Luton has a big incentive to play well, as a win would see them climb out of the relegation zone. Luton has played a game more than the hosts, and time is quickly running out.

In the Sunday games, Liverpool hosts Crystal Palace, who are not safe in 14th. A win for the Reds would see them go top for at least a few hours.

The late kick-off on Sunday (not featured) is Arsenal v Aston Villa. A win would see the Gunners go back on top unless Liverpool can somehow overcome a nine-goal deficit in goal difference.

Premier League Betting – Newcastle United vs Tottenham Hotspur

Despite suffering from an injury crisis, Newcastle United are in good form, with three wins, a draw and a defeat in their last five. Last weekend, an 81′ goal from Bruno Guimarães was enough to see them past a spirited Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Currently, Newcastle United is dealing with a significant number of injuries within their squad. Jamaal Lascelles, Tino Livramento, Miguel Almirón, Sven Botman, Lewis Miley, Callum Wilson, Joelinton, Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett, and Sandro Tonali are all sidelined due to injuries. Additionally, Joe Willock is listed as doubtful for the upcoming match. This series of injuries covers various positions, impacting the team’s depth and options for upcoming games.

Newcastle have a reasonably comfortable fixture list after Tottenham, with games against Crystal Palace, Sheffield United, Burnley and Brighton. Their last two fixtures are a bit trickier, with an away game with Manchester United and a home match against Brentford.

Bruno Guimarães is one of Newcastle’s form players. The defensive midfielder scored in the 0-1 win over Fulham last weekend and was the man-of-the-match in the 1-1 draw with Everton.

Few Tottenham fans would have expected their team to be doing so well, especially as their main man, Harry Kane, left for the German champions, Bayern Munich. However, Tottenham are flying, sitting in 4th, ahead of Aston Villa on goal difference. As results went against some of the English teams in Europe in midweek, Germany (16.785) leapfrogged England (16.750) in the latest UEFA coefficient rankings. As things stand, only fourth place will guarantee Champions League football next season.

Tottenham are in great form, with four wins, one draw and a defeat in the last six. Crucially, they beat their nearest rivals, Aston Villa, 0-4 at Villa Park. James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Son Heung-Min and Timo Werner all got on the scoresheet.

Tottenham are eleven points away from the leaders, Arsenal and also eleven points clear of Manchester United in 6th place. The London side has some challenging fixtures ahead, with games against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City all to come. Therefore, it’s safe to say that Spurs will directly impact the title race.

Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest last week 3-1. An early own goal from Murillo and second-half goals from Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro was enough to secure the three points.

Son Heung-Min leads the goalscoring with 24 goal involvements (fifteen goals, nine assists). Richarlison (ten goals) is the only other player to have reached double digits.

Premier League Betting – Manchester City vs Luton Town

There is no team better than Manchester City when it comes to finishing a campaign strongly, and it’s no surprise that the bookies have City as 6/4 to be crowned champions ahead of Arsenal (7/4) and Liverpool (9/4).

City are unbeaten in their last six games in all competitions (three wins, three draws) and unbeaten in their previous fourteen league games (ten wins, four draws). Only Arsenal have a better recent record.

In the midweek Champions League quarter-final first leg, Manchester City managed a 3-3 draw against Real Madrid, a result praised by manager Pep Guardiola for his team’s ability to “adapt quickly to chaos.” City took an early lead with Bernardo Silva’s free-kick, but Real Madrid responded with goals from Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo, exploiting City’s defensive vulnerabilities. Guardiola reflected on the growth of his team, emphasising their improved emotional stability compared to earlier seasons.

Despite missing key player Kevin de Bruyne, City showed resilience. Phil Foden equalised with a stunning strike, and Josko Gvardiol added another, marking his first goal for the club. However, Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde scored a spectacular volley to equalise, setting up a highly anticipated second leg at Etihad Stadium as City aims to retain the Champions League.

Manchester City might proceed without Kyle Walker and Nathan Ake, while Phil Foden faces uncertainty for the next game due to a bruised leg sustained in the recent clash with Real Madrid. Pep Guardiola is considering giving players like Phil Foden and Rodri a break in preparation for the upcoming Champions League return leg.

Despite being seriously threatened by relegation, Luton Town is among the best teams to watch in the Premier League, especially for neutrals. The team conceded 65 goals, and only the two teams below them let in more (Burnley 67 and Sheffield United 82). However, they scored 45, the same as Manchester United, in 6th place. Meaning their games are usually very entertaining.

Carlton Morris scored a decisive late goal to lift Luton Town’s hopes of Premier League survival as they triumphed over Bournemouth with a dramatic 2-1 victory.

Bournemouth initially took the lead early in the second half with a Marcus Tavernier goal, but Luton equalised through Jordan Clark’s strike in the 73rd minute. Morris sealed the win with a 90th-minute goal, ending Luton’s 10-game winless streak in the league.

Despite the win, Luton remains in the relegation zone, tied on points with Nottingham Forest but trailing on goal difference. Luton’s manager, Rob Edwards, praised his team’s character and determination in clinching a critical victory.

Luton has two players on nine goals, Carlton Morris and Elijah Adebayo. Morris scored the late winner over the weekend, but Adebayo is sidelined due to a thigh injury. Luton’s job is much more challenging, with a full injury room and no less than 11 players unfit for the game. Issa Kabore is on loan from City and is ineligible for the game.

“The Romantic in me would love to see Luton win, but that’s unlikely. I expect goals and plenty of them. Therefore I’m looking at the 3 or more goals player market. Erling Haaland is the obvious choice at 6/1, but I fancy Phil Foden, if fit, due to his odds of 33/1.” Luke Andrews, Betting Expert – UK Market.

Luke’s prediction: – Manchester City 5 Luton 1.

Premier League Betting – Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Last weekend, Liverpool missed their chance to reclaim the Premier League’s top spot after a gripping draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford. Despite dominating much of the game and outshooting United 15 to none in the first half, Liverpool only managed to net one goal through Luis Diaz. United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, played a crucial role in keeping the score down with several key saves.

In a surprising turn of events, United found their way back into the game shortly after halftime when Liverpool’s Jarell Quansah mistakenly passed the ball to Bruno Fernandes, who capitalised by lobbing a distant shot over Liverpool’s keeper, Caoimhin Kelleher. Kobbie Mainoo later added to United’s tally with a curling strike, marking his first home goal. Liverpool eventually secured a draw, thanks to Mohamed Salah’s penalty in the closing minutes, following a foul on Harvey Elliott by Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The draw left Liverpool second in the league standings on goal difference, just behind Arsenal, with Manchester City close behind in third.

Liverpool’s hopes of winning a quadruple of trophies had already been ended by Manchester United, who knocked them out of the FA Cup. However, hopes of winning three titles (Carabao Cup, Premier League & Europa League) are in doubt as they suffered a shock 3-0 home defeat by Atalanta in the Europa League. Liverpool will need another European miracle to overturn the deficit when the teams meet for next Thursday’s second leg in Italy.

“Can we win it back? Yes, If we play good it is possible. Can we win 3-0? I have no idea,” said Klopp.

Regarding the Premier League, Klopp’s men are only second due to goal difference. Both Arsenal and Liverpool are on 71 points, but the London side are +51, nine better than Liverpool’s +42. So, in some ways, Palace could be the perfect opposition as they conceded 54 and have a negative goal difference of 18. Palace are also low scorers. Their tally of 36 is the 17th worst in the league, with only Everton, Burnley, and Sheffield United scoring less.

Darwin Núñez is a man in form with six goals and two assists in his last ten games, despite being often used as a sub.

Palace is a team that appears to be slowly sleepwalking towards relegation, and their cushion of five points could soon be wiped out with another couple of losses. In their last game, a 2-4 defeat by Manchester City, The match began with a shock as Jean-Philippe Mateta gave Palace an early lead, finding the net in the third minute after latching onto a pass from Adam Wharton.

However, City quickly responded, with De Bruyne curling in an exquisite equaliser only 10 minutes later. Pep Guardiola praised De Bruyne’s “incredible” contribution, emphasising his crucial role in the team, especially towards the season’s climax.

Despite a solid offensive display from Palace, including a hit on the crossbar by Jordan Ayew, City took the lead in the second half. Rico Lewis broke the deadlock shortly after the break, and Erling Haaland scored off a De Bruyne assist. De Bruyne then celebrated his milestone of 100 club goals with a powerful strike to complete his brace.

Although Odsonne Edouard scored a late goal for Palace, it was merely a consolation in a match dominated by City’s effective comeback.

In fairness to Palace, their season is unlikely to be defined by games against the current champions and Liverpool, but games are quickly running out, and the Eagles have only won one of their last nine (3-0 Burnley), suffering five losses and three draws. They still have some challenging games ahead, with fixtures against West Ham, Newcastle, Manchester United and Aston Villa to come. You’d expect they need to win against Fulham and Wolves to stand any chance of avoiding the drop.

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Odsonne Édouard are the club’s top scorers, each with seven goals.
