Match week fourteen takes us within five games of reaching the season’s midpoint, with the league seemingly taking shape, especially at the top.

Numerous teams will be challenging for the title; Arsenal sneaked between Liverpool and Manchester City, taking advantage of their draw to move top of the table. They play in the early kick-off against Wolves with their destiny in their own hands, with a win seeing them stay top for another week. Premier League betting fans might consider backing Wolves, who stunned Tottenham last month.

Manchester City will face top-six opposition for a third consecutive match, welcoming Spurs to the Etihad this time. Chelsea has been inconsistent with a different result in the last five games and hopes to continue this trend against Brighton, losing 4 – 1 to Newcastle in their previous match.

Everton will face Nottingham Forest under pressure, while Manchester United and Newcastle battle it out at St. James Park.

Premier League Betting – Arsenal vs Wolves

Arsenal is on a solid run towards the top of the Premier League and could maintain their position with a victory against Wolves at the Emirates Stadium.

Under Mikel Arteta’s leadership, the team has shown remarkable form both in domestic and European competitions. They recently secured their spot in the UEFA Champions League knockout stage with an impressive 6-goal victory over Lens.

They lead the league in defensive strength, allowing just ten goals.

Their offence is equally formidable, with six players scoring in recent games. Gabriel Jesus, having swiftly recovered from an injury, is back in excellent form, contributing a goal and an assist in their Champions League match. In their previous encounter with Wolves at home, Arsenal emerged victorious with a decisive 5-0 win.

The visiting team has a challenging history, losing their last six visits to the teams at the top of the Premier League.

Their recent 3-2 loss to Wolves, marked by conceding two penalties, including one in the final minute, was a significant setback. However, as they prepare for their next match at the Emirates, they can take confidence from their attacking prowess, having scored in their last twelve games (resulting in four wins, three draws, and five losses).

Wolves have scored in each of their last 12 Premier League games since blanking against Manchester United on the opening matchday.

Premier League Betting – Nottingham Forest vs Everton

The relegation battle is set to intensify as Nottingham Forest currently has an eight-point cushion from the red zone. The Foresters have one win (four defeats, four draws) from the last nine games, losing the previous two consecutive games.

Steve Cooper needs to balance their play by improving their defence, as they have been very dominant in their attack, scoring four goals in four of the previous five games. However, they conceded three goals in the last two games to lose on both occasions by a 3 – 2 scoreline.

Antony Elanga has scored in three straight games for Nottingham Forest, but the eyes will be on the defence to try to keep the advantage for their team, as scoring hasn’t been a problem.

Everton were one win away from the top four heading to their weekend match against Manchester United. They were, however, snatched ten points, and despite a spirited effort, they lost 3 – 0 to the Red Devils and are still five points away from safety.

They were cruising on an undefeated run of four games (three wins, one draw) and will be glad to head back to playing on the road, where they have been impressive, winning three of the last four games.

Everton has not lost at this stadium since 1995, with a good record of two wins and one draw in their games.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s first goal involvement with Everton came against Foresters at this arena in March in a two-all draw.

Premier League Betting – Manchester City vs Tottenham

Manchester City has been in its best form despite failing to take all three points against Liverpool that would have seen them keep their place at the top of the table.

They settled for a 1 – 1 draw but are confident they can snatch maximum points against Tottenham, who have a lot of issues on their plate heading to the match.

The defending Champions will face another top-six opposition for the fourth time in the five games, winning once (3 – 0 against Manchester United) but have drawn the previous two (4 – 4 against Chelsea) and the recent 1-1 draw against Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola dropped points from winning positions in the last two matches and thus would need to kill the game early.

Erling Haaland has fourteen goals this campaign, including three in the previous two games.

Tottenham Hotspur have been a team that has troubled Manchester City over the years, winning three of the last five games against them in the Premier League.

Their current situation is, however, worrying, with injuries and suspension plaguing what was turning out to be a perfect season.

The London side scored first in the last three games but lost. Ange Postecoglou started their previous match with Emerson Royal and Ben Davies as the centre-backs and could have to trust the two again against a Man City lethal attack led by Haaland.

The best option is incorporating Eric Dier in a back three to keep a good defensive shape. All their troubles have come in the defence; their attack has been impressive, led by Heung Min Son, who has scored eight goals this campaign.

Premier League Betting – Newcastle vs Manchester United

In recent weeks, they triumphed against Arsenal (1 – 0) in the League PSG (4 – 1) in the Champions League. They would be confident welcoming Manchester United again at St. James Park, hoping they can deliver yet another strong performance. A win would be a good morale boost, especially with their European charge seemingly crumbling down after conceding a late penalty against PSG to draw 1 – 1 to leave second place up for grabs. They will leapfrog their opponents if they win as they hope to get back to the top four with all eyes on Antony Gordon, who has five goals and three assists to produce magic in front of goal.

Manchester United, currently in sixth place in the Premier League, has secured victories in their last three games. While their overall performance hasn’t been outstanding, they’ve achieved results. Scoring has been a challenge for them, with only sixteen goals to their name, the lowest among the top half teams in the league.

Despite these struggles, they achieved a notable victory in their last match, scoring three goals against Everton – their most significant goal margin this season. However, in the Champions League, Erik Ten Hag’s team lost a 3-1 lead, settling for a 3-3 draw with Galatasaray, impacting their chances of advancing.

Manchester United is only four points away from the top four, even though their form hasn’t been at its peak. There’s optimism that their performance will improve as they find their rhythm.

Alejandro Garnacho has been a key player, scoring the first goals in their last two matches, including an impressive acrobatic goal against Everton.

Chelsea’s inconsistencies have seen them record different results in the last six Premier League games. Mauricio Pochettino is winless in the last two games, winning just one in the previous five games (two draws, two defeats).

The Blues must work on their defence, conceding eight goals in their last two games (four each), losing 4 – 1 against Newcastle and a 4 – 4 draw with Manchester City.

Now sitting tenth in the table, Chelsea needs a good result quickly to re-energize their campaign, having seen flashes of excellence in their performances this campaign.

Cole Palmer has risen above Stamford Bridge’s ranks to become a regular starter and constant threat cutting inside from the right flank. The maestro has four goals and two assists in ten appearances.

They have a good record against Chelsea, something they will be hoping to carry on heading to their visit to Stamford Bridge. Brighton is unbeaten against their hosts in the last five games, winning the most recent two matches, including a 2 – 1 at this stadium in April and drawing the other three. They came from a goal down to triumph, with Julio Enciso scoring the magical long-range shot.

Evan Ferguson already has six goals in the Premier League and has an eye for goal with a hat trick this season.
