Adam and Paige: Love Island Favorites Heading Into Final Weeks

Bookmakers have promoted Adam Collard and Paige Thorne into favorites for Love Island 2022. The massively popular ITV4 show is set to conclude on Monday, August 1st meaning it is now unlikely any new or additional islanders will join the cast.

14 candidates remain in the reality TV show. Of these, eight made their debut in Love Island’s opening episode. First-day arrivals Luca Bish and Gemma Owen – coupled for all but ten days of the program – have been the market leaders for much of the past five weeks.

However, public support for them dried up a week ago leading to Italian hunk Davide Sanclimenti and bombshell Ekin-Su – a former soap opera star in Turkey – becoming the 6/4 betting principles in the ‘winning couple’ market.

Movie Night Was a Horror Show for Favorites

But the broadcast of ‘Movie Night’ during the weekend – a dramatic Love Island episode when islanders are shown potentially awkward moments from the series that their love interests know nothing about – has shaken up the betting once again.

Luca Bish, Dami Hope and Davide Sanclimenti all reacted badly to clips filmed when the second villa, Casa Amor, was open. Social media posts suggested the bulk of observers were not impressed by their reactions to the video snapshots and all betting sites have reacted accordingly.

Unaffected by such antics, Adam Collard and Paige Thorne have subsequently plummeted from 8/1 into 6/4. Collard is a late comer to Love Island. The personal trainer and gym director did not enter the villa until day 36. The pair coupled two days later.

It is noteworthy that 2019 co-winner, Greg O’Shea entered the Love Island villa on day 44, just two weeks from the show’s conclusion. He coupled with day one arrival Amber Gill …and Paige Thorne has been in the villa from day one.

Adam Comes in Under the Radar

Adam is Paige’s fourth coupling and the pair kissed for the first time in Sunday night’s show. Her path to a potential romance with the 26-year-old comes after Jacques O’Neill decided to walk from the show.

The Rugby League player had been paired with Paige three times. But, after leaving the show, he told the Sun newspaper: “Doing Love Island was the worst decision of my life. I was ready to break down. I was feeling mentally drained. I just wanted to go home.”

Paige does not seem to be suffering from such fatigue. But does she know Adam is on his fifth Love Island partner? The Geordie had previously appeared in the 2018 series of Love Island where he coupled with four different women in the space of two weeks!

All Hope Is Not Lost

Of the remaining couples, the leading Love Island betting sites still believe there is a chance for Dami Hope and Indiyah Polack to prevail. The pair of day one entries have been available at all prices between 2/1 and 20/1 during the past month. They are now 6/1. Andrew Le Page and Tasha Ghouri have never appealed to the betting public. They are currently 20/1 but were 40/1 a week ago.
