Join us as we assess both teams and highlight the players to watch. We also make predictions in the popular Over / Under goals market and what we feel will be the final score.

World Cup 2022: Brazil v Serbia

The most successful team in the World Cup, Brazil, boasting five titles, will aim for a sixth honour after two decades without triumph. Manager Tite seems to have more control over his team, making a bold call-up of nine attackers to use as the Brazilian attacking flame to burn their way through games.

Serbia has a strong squad and could be a dark horse after topping their qualification group and eclipsing Portugal. The two teams were in the same group in the 2018 edition, where Brazil won 2 – 0 and qualified as the group winners.

Dragan Stojkovic promised to take the nation he captained to the World Cup, and he did just that while playing attractive attacking football that could give Brazil an early scare. We bring you through the players and statics to look at before placing your bets.

Brazil Win Draw Serbia
9/20 16/5 13/2

Brazil boasts one of the best attacks in the competition and is the favourite to go all the way. They suffered two premature eliminations in the previous four editions, hoping to improve from these failures. The bookies have them as favourites, with 888sport pricing Brazil at 9/20 and Serbia on 13/2, with a draw at 16/5.

Brazil’s last defeat was a 1 – 0 against Argentina in the Copa America final, the only defeat in twenty-seven games. In recent games, they have won five in a row Tunisia (5 – 1), Ghana (3 – 0), Japan (1 – 0), South Korea (5 – 1), Bolivia (4 – 0), Chile (4 – 0), and Paraguay (4 – 0).

Serbia is unbeaten in five, winning four; Norway (2 – 0), Sweden (4 – 1) (1 – 0), and Slovenia (4 – 1) drawing one; Slovenia (2 – 2). Their only defeat in the last six games came in a 1 – 0 loss to Norway.

Over/Under Market

Match Result Betting
Over 2.5 Goals Under 2.5 Goals
4/5 1/1

Two teams playing great attacking football will surely be a spectacle for one of the best games, and we hope there will be galore of goals.

Brazil has four of their last five wins Over 2.5, with the only exception being the 1 – 0 win against Japan. The South Americans have balanced an excellent attack with a solid defence conceding just once twice in the last five games.

Serbia has had three of five recordings Over 2.5, and with both side strength in attack, we expect this game could rack up over 3.5 markets.

Players to watch Brazil –

Neymar is one of the superstars to look out for at the World Cup. At thirty years of age, the PSG man would have to take up a more mature leadership role after playing the celebrity card over the last two editions. However, he has been on form for PSG this season with twenty goal involvements (eleven goals, nine assists) in fourteen league games. Furthermore, in ten games, he was on fire in their qualification campaign with sixteen goal involvements (eight goals, eight assists). For a nation that has seen a significant share of talent, Neymar ranks among the game’s greats and has enough talent to lead his side to victory.

Players to watch Serbia – :

Aleksandar Mitrovic has been one of the best attackers in the World, if not the best, in terms of goal involvement. In Fulham’s promotion season to the Premier League, he had fifty-goal involvements (forty-three goals, seven assists). He has scored nine goals this season and has been in phenomenal form leading his team to go to the broken top of the table. He has an excellent eye for goals and could lead the threat to upset the record holders.

Match Prediction: Brazil 2 – 0 Serbia

Two great attacking sides are the breed for a great attacking game of football. Brazil has been through a rough patch in form over the last five editions and will be ruthless in Qatar from the get-go. Serbia’s lethal attack will hurt teams, but we don’t see them taking anything from this game.
