Three Teams Remain Unbeaten in Race to the NFL’s Super Bowl

The NFL season is just three weeks in and, with 14 weeks of games remaining, there is an awful long way to go. Nevertheless, there have been significant clues as to what the rest of the season may hold, and Superbowl betting has seen some significant changes.

Amongst the headlines, the San Francisco 49ers have hit the ground running, with Brock Purdy continuing his impressive unbeaten run since becoming the 49ers’ starting quarterback. Three straight wins this season take his record to eight wins from eight starts.

He has his detractors but he has the poise and vision of a player with far more experience, and the more he plays, the more confident he is likely to become. The best online bookies have reacted quickly to such a positive start from the 49ers. The team now shares Super Bowl favouritism with the Kansas City Chiefs on the 6/1 mark. They were 10/1 shots at the beginning of the season.

Impressive 49ers Figures Ahead of Acid Test

Priced 4/7, the 49ers were top dogs for the NFC West before a ball was thrown. Those odds have since disappeared, and the team is now as short as 1/8 to take the division. It is a similar story to win the NFC title. San Fransisco is now across-the-board favourites ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys.

The 49ers are huge favourites to beat the Arizona Cardinals in week four, giving up 14.5 points on the spread. The acid test could be in week five, where they face what could be a problematical Dallas Cowboys team. Should the 49ers come out on top in that clash, they will look every inch like a team that could go all the way to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas in February.

Dolphins Are Swimming With the Big Fish

The Miami Dolphins are three wins from three after a stunning 70-20 home win against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Once 25/1 to win the Super Bowl, the team’s odds have shrivelled to as short as 9/1. Any outfit capable of racking up such a colossal score must be taken seriously.

Teams scoring over 50 points in a single game are a rarity. The history books show the last time a team scored 70 or more was when the Washington Commanders beat the New York Giants 72-41 in 1966.

The Broncos have had a poor start to the season and are 0-3, but rather than being woeful in defence, they were overwhelmed by a Dolphins offence full of ideas, speed and accuracy. The Dolphin’s next game is a road trip to the Buffalo Bills, where they will be thoroughly tested.

KC Chiefs Looking Finger Licking Good

Last year’s Super Bowl winners, the Kansas City Chiefs, were chinned by a single point by the Detroit Lions in their opening game. But the team has started to show the form that saw them dominate last season.

After a satisfactory 17-9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas blew the Chicago Bears away 41-10 at the weekend, and the signs are that superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes will be as influential as ever. He has thrown for seven touchdowns already this season.

Kansas’ next opponents are the New York Jets, with the Chiefs firm favourites – 2/9 money line and -9.5 on the spread – to take their season’s tally to 3-1.

No Streak but Buffalo Running Hot

The Buffalo Bills looked below their best when going down to the New York Jets on the opening day. They have blown the cobwebs away with impressive wins over Las Vegas and Washington since. They leaked 22 points to the Jets but conceded just 13 points in their latest couple of encounters – scoring 75 points.

The Bills’ defence looks solid, but as importantly, quarterback Josh Allen has found his throwing arm. He has an impressive 72 percent completion rate on passes this season, gaining 728 yards and five touchdowns.

They next face a rampant Miami Dolphins in an AFC East clash where the Bills are slight favourites – 5/6 on a -2.5 line with the UK’s NFL betting sites – to come out on top.

It looks like the match of week four. If the Dolphin’s offence unit is in a similar mood to that when chalking up a ridiculous 70 points against the Denver Broncos, the Buffalo defence will be tested to the max.

A Grind but Eagles Now Flying High

Philadelphia ground out a 25-20 victory against the New England Patriots in the season’s opening game. The team looked more convincing when beating the Minnesota Vikings 34-28 in week two.

On Monday, the 2023 Super Bowl finalists became the third team to make the perfect three-from-three start to the season with a convincing 25-11 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

This time, the Eagles’ defence was superb, holding the Buccaneers to 174 yards, which bodes well for the remainder of the season. Their offensive unit has yet to find top gear, and with eight touchdowns to their credit this season, there is some room for improvement.

So far, Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts has not looked as sharp as he did last season. With the likelihood that he will improve his performance in the coming weeks, the Eagles are expected to have another successful season.

The leading NFL betting sites firmly agree, and Philadelphia is quoted as the 7/1 third favourite in the Super Bowl betting markets. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys follow in their lists. All three are available on 10/1.
