Euro 2024 Qualifying Draw in Full

The draw for the qualifying groups for Euro 2024 has taken place, and the draw has produced some interesting ties, such as Italy being drawn against England, a team they beat in the final in 2021. Join us as we reveal which teams will play each other in the qualifiers starting next year.

Euro 2024 Draw

Although understandably, much of the attention is on the World Cup, which starts in Qatar next month, the draw for qualifying for Euro 2024 took place this week, and still represents a good football betting market as well as one for live betting sites to cater to.

Fifty-four teams will compete in qualifying. There are six groups of five teams (A-G) and four groups of six.

Qualifying games start from 23-25 March 2023.

Euro 2024 Group A

Group A: Spain, Scotland, Norway, Georgia, Cyprus.

Group A is a tough group to qualify from for Scotland as they face not only Spain but also Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland’s Norway. If the Tartan Army hope to get to Germany, they will target wins against Cyprus, their manager Steve Clarke has already led them to victory over them twice during his time as manager.

“It’s going to be competitive. There are five good teams, and hopefully, we can be the best,”

“Cyprus was my first game as head coach, so I’ve got good memories of that one. The games aren’t won yet. You have to go there, and you have to be competitive. We think that we’re confident enough to try and continue that through to the groups.” Clarke said.

Group favourites Spain has won the competition three times (1964, 2008 and 2012).

Euro 2024 Group B

Group B: Netherlands, France, Rep Ireland, Greece, Gibraltar

The Republic of Ireland faces an uphill task to qualify after being drawn against big hitters France and the Netherlands. France has a star-studded team, including Kylian Mbappe, and the Netherlands are in the top ten of Fifa rankings (8) and has Frenkie de Jong and Virgil van Dijk in their ranks. However, one glimmer of hope for the Irish is that the last time the Netherlands and Ireland were drawn together in 2002 World Cup qualifying, the Irish took four points.

Euro 2024 Group C

Group C: Italy, England, Ukraine, N Macedonia, Malta

Italy and England met in the last final at Wembley, with Italy winning 1-0 to take the crown. More recently, the two met at the Nations League. The Italians also won that game, meaning England was relegated to the second tier. The Italians also won the competition in 1968.

Ukraine is likely to be key to who qualifies from the group. They have only lost five games in their last 21. However, one of those losses was against England (4-0). N Macedonia and Malta are likely to be the group’s whipping boys.

Euro 2024 Group D

Group D: Croatia, Wales, Armenia, Turkey, Latvia

You would imagine this group will be a straight shootout between Croatia and Wales, with both likely to qualify. The team that could prove tricky is Turkey, who won promotion in the Nations League after winning their group.

Although it would be a surprise if they qualified, Armenian National team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan fancies his team’s chances. They will need to improve their current form, losing their last five in all competitions.

Euro 2024 Group E

Group E: Poland, Czechs, Albania, Faroe Islands, Moldova

Although Poland and the Czech Republic are expected to walk their groups, neither team is in decent form, so if this continues, there could be shocks in store. Poland has lost three in six (Belgium twice and the Netherlands), while the Czech Republic has lost their last four (Portugal twice, Spain and Switzerland). Albania could be the team to take advantage of any slip-ups, but they are not in great form themselves, failing to win in their last six (four draws and two losses).

The Czechs won the Euros in 1976, beating Germany in the final in the now-defunct Yugoslavia.

Euro 2024 Group F

Group F: Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Azerbaijan, Estonia

Belgium is not expected to struggle in Group F, although they have recently suffered two defeats against the Netherlands in the Nations League. Belgium has some star names in their side, including Kevin De Bruyne, Youri Tielemans and Romelu Lukaku.

Although some of Belgium’s stars are edging towards retirement, 20-year-old Jérémy Doku is one to look out for. In the 77 minutes he played in the World Cup qualifiers, the youngster scored one and assisted two.

Austria and Sweden both have a good shout at qualifying, with Azerbaijan and Estonia not likely to pose much of a problem.

Euro 2024 Group G

Group G: Hungary, Serbia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Lithuania

Group G could be challenging as Hungary and Serbia are in good form. Hungary narrowly missed topping their Nations League “group of death” that included England, Germany and Italy. A win by the Italians on the last matchday toppled them. Serbia is on a five-game unbeaten run with four wins and a draw.

Montenegro could be dark horses, they have a good scoring record, finding the net 13 times in ten games during World Cup qualification and six goals in six in the Nations League.

Euro 2024 Group H

Group H: Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Luxembourg, N. Ireland, San Marino

In Group H, the Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough believes being in a group with five teams will aid his team’s chances of pulling of a surprise.

“It gives us a chance to spring a surprise, As a Pot 5 team, as we were for the qualifiers for Euro 2016, this group gives us a fighting chance to make a good fist of qualifying.

“I think being in a group of six nations is good for us. It means we don’t have to play friendlies and therefore, every game is a qualifier, and there’s something on the game.”

Denmark should comfortably top their group as they have been in good form, beating France twice in the Nations League. However, Croatia did beat them home and away recently, but they should have too much talent in this group.

Euro 2024 Group I

Group I: Switzerland, Israel, Romania, Kazakstan, Belarus, Andorra

Switzerland shouldn’t have much difficulty in their group as they average almost 16 shots per game (15.9) and scored 15 in eight games in their World Cup qualification campaign. They have beaten Portugal, Spain and the Czech Republic in their Nations League group.

Israel could surprise as they are an attacking side and average 15.8 goals in their Nations League group. However, they recently lost 2-1 against Malta, ending a five-game unbeaten run.

Romania fancy their chances, as you can see from this Tweet, “Couldn’t asked for much better!”

Euro 2024 Group J

Group J: Portugal, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Iceland, Kosovo, Slovakia, Liechtenstein

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Euro 2024 isn’t Christiano Ronaldo’s last tournament, if he’s still playing at the age of 39, that is. Ronaldo was in the squad for Portugal’s triumphant Euro 2016 campaign in France.

If expected, Portugal win their group, who will join them is less clear. Bosnia has been in great form, a loss against Romania in their last game was their only defeat in six, and Iceland can surprise the big boys, as England knows so well. Slovakia are a bit erratic, but 27-year-old Ondrej Duda has been in good form for his country.
