Darts 2024 Calendar: New Events and 170 Days of Darts Action
The Professional Darts Corporation has unveiled its 2024 calendar. Featuring over 170 days of darts played worldwide, pro players will visit new destinations, including a trip to Switzerland for the very first time.
The PDC European Tour will consist of 13 three-day events across a record seven nations from February until October 2024. The number includes a new tournament in Antwerp as the popularity of darts continues to grow in Belgium.
Furthermore, all 30 Players Championship events will be played on midweek dates for the first time – in Wigan, Leicester, Hildesheim and Milton Keynes. But, following the conclusion of the 2023/24 World Darts Championship, the focus initially turns to the PDC Qualifying Schools staged between January 8-14 in Milton Keynes (UK Q School) and Kalkar, Germany (European Q School).
2024 Premier League Returns to Old Haunts
The Premier League season will begin in Wales on February 1, with the first of 16 league phase nights staged in Utilita Arena, Cardiff. The season’s finale will take place in May, with the final three league nights in Aberdeen, Leeds and Sheffield, followed by the season-ending Play-Offs held at The O2 in London on Thursday, May 23.
Although dates and scheduling differ from 2023, the 2024 Premier League returns to an unchanged line-up of 17 venues across the UK and Europe. What needs to be clarified is the identity of the event sponsor. Financially troubled online car retailer Cazoo sponsored the competition in 2022 and 2023.

Why It Is Important to Be Amongst the Top on Tour
The Premier League – won by Michael van Gerwen seven times – is restricted to eight elite players. It is the world’s top 24 players that will compete in The Masters in Milton Keynes from February 2-4.
Next is the ever-popular annual festival of darts, the UK Open. Its dates are March 1-3 at Butlin’s Minehead Resort. The World Cup of Darts will then take place in Frankfurt from June 27-30 before 32 of the world’s biggest stars head to Blackpool for the World Matchplay from July 13-21.
Amsterdam will once again play host to the World Series of Darts Finals from September 13-15 before the Betfred World Grand Prix takes place from October 7-13. At this point, the top 32 players on the European Tour Order of Merit will head to Dortmund for the European Championship (October 24-27).
The Grand Slam of Darts is set to take place from November 9-17 in Wolverhampton. After that, the top 64 players from the final Players Championship Order of Merit will advance to Minehead for the Players Championship Finals from November 22-24.
Seven European Nations and 13 Tour Stops
Staged from February to October, the 2024 European Tour will feature 13 three-day events. It will travel across a record seven nations, with a maiden visit to Switzerland accompanied by events in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The year’s opening event will take place in Wieze from March 8-10. It will represent a third visit to the hugely popular Oktoberhallen. It is followed by three consecutive tournaments in Germany, including trips to Munich, Riesa and Sindelfingen.

Winning events in Germany, Hungary and Holland, plus a final appearance in Czechia, Dave Chisnall has been the most successful player on the European Tour in 2023. Remarkably, despite a PDC professional career that began in 2011 – and a decade spent within the sport’s top 20 – ‘Chizzy’ has never won one of darts seven ‘majors’.

The Women’s World Matchplay will be played on July 21 when eight of the women’s game’s top talents take to the Winter Gardens stage.
The Challenge and Development Tours will also consist of 24 tournaments, as players from across the globe compete for places in TV events. Finally, the World Youth Championship will see its early rounds staged in October and the final played in Minehead in November.
