Oasis Reunion Not the Only Brotherly Love You Can Bet On

New comments from Noel Gallagher appearing to open the door on an Oasis reunion have triggered a gamble on the Manchester rockers getting back together in 2023. The likelihood of the band reuniting has been debated ever since Noel – the elder of the brothers – quit the band in 2009.

Against the wishes of his brother Liam, Noel has consistently refused to entertain the idea of the band getting back together. But a fortnight ago, Gallagher told BBC Radio Manchester “You should never say never,” adding, “it would have to take an extraordinary set of circumstances – that’s not to say that those circumstances would never come about.”

The statement was enough for Boylesports to declare they had taken requests for Oasis to reform before the end of the year and slash the odds to 4/1 from 20/1. Furthermore, the chances of the pair headlining Glastonbury as Oasis this summer have been cut into 33/1 from 100/1.

The new odds could still represent value as there have been some changes in Noel’s life that could lead to a softening in his stance. It was recently announced the Mancunian has split from his partner of 22 years, Sara MacDonald. And this week, the Daily Mail reported, as an 80th birthday wish, the Gallaghers’ mother, Peggy, asked for the pair to mend their rift and reconcile.

Love Is in Running

Love Island contestants have bedded in – in every sense of the world – for the latest series of the enormously popular ITV2 show. Three weeks into proceedings, just four contestants have been dumped, and 14 love hopefuls remain.

The current cast has several Londoners among its number. Unusually, the show features no Scottish, Welsh or Irish contestants. But it is an Australian, Jessie Wynter, and her coupling, Aylesbury farmer Will Young, that the public and Love Island bookmakers like most.

Plenty can and will happen in the coming weeks. Do not dismiss the notion that a late arrival representing a country other than England (or Australia) can find their beau and take the prize. This happened in 2019 when Irish rugby player Greg O’Shea entered the Love Island villa on day 44 and went home with Amber Gill and a £50,000 cash prize.

Big Brother Is Back on the Box

Once winter and summer editions of Love Island – in addition to the much-touted I’m a Celebrity All Stars – have ended, ITV will then proceed to broadcast Big Brother. Always a big favorite with novelty betting fans, the show has been off the air since 2018.

The last series of Big Brother was a celebrity edition won by Coronation Street’s Ryan Thomas, the late Kirstie Alley finished as runner-up. It was the fifteenth celebrity series and twenty-second series of Big Brother overall to air on Channel 5. Beforehand Channel 4 had broadcast 12 Big Brothers and seven celebrity editions between 2000 and 2010.

Who Will Present the New Big Brother?

ITV has kept plans for its new show under wraps but bookmakers are keen to get the ball in motion. The top novelty betting sites have opened a betting market on the identity of the new show’s host.

2013 Celebrity Big Brother winner, Ryland Clark-Neal is a prohibitive 1/4 favorite. 2002 Big Brother contestant Alison Hammond and the winner of that year’s show, Kate Lawlor, trade as joint second favorites on 10/1.

Our preference is for Brian Dowling. The Irishman won the second series of Big Brother and went on to win Ultimate Big Brother in 2010. The first openly gay children’s TV presenter, Dowling fronted two editions of Big Brother and four editions of Celebrity Big Brother when the show first aired on Channel 5.

Vitally the 44-year-old now appears to have an excellent relationship with ITV. He makes regular appearances on This Morning and currently fronts The Real Housewives of Jersey and The Real Housewives of Cheshire for ITVBe.

Dowling is not currently listed in the ‘next presenter’ betting. Consequently, our advice is to contact the request-a-bet sections of the best online novelty betting sites to get a quote on the outcome. Any odds above 8/1 will represent value given his CV and long history with Big Brother.
