50/1 Aliens Exist? UFO Betting Is Out of This World

After recently downing four mystery balloons, the U.S. Military continues to monitor the skies for UFOs. This week started with a new balloon sighting over the Pacific Ocean northeast of Hawaii.

A shot down high-altitude surveillance balloon is recovered off the coast of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

It is not just America that has reported unidentified objects floating over its landmass. A recent sighting over China’s Hebei Province – not far from Beijing – prompted flight delays from Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport.

As stargazers look to the skies, Irish online bookmaker, BoyleSports says it is now closely monitoring its extra-terrestrial betting. It reports a flurry of bets have been placed on the presence of alien life being confirmed during 2023.

50/1 and No Strings Attached

The odds of alien life being established by NASA were once as big as 500/1 with the bookie. But, BoyleSports says – after several high-profile UFO sightings were reported – the firm has been forced to cut those odds significantly.

Israeli psychic and self-proclaimed UFO expert, Uri Geller, has further sparked interest by extra-terrestrial believers, by saying the U.S. is making a “deadly mistake” by shooting down suspected UFOs. Geller believes aliens “are coming in peace”.

If the famous spoon bender is correct, and the mysterious flying objects are from out of this world, BoyleSports adjusted quote of 50/1 could bring its trading figures back down to earth with a bang.

Put Your Money Down on Banknote Betting

Since our William Hill review found they offered odds on ‘Who Shot JR?’ in a memorable 1980 episode of Dallas, bookmakers have striven to attract bets and customers via quirky novelty betting markets that attract news headlines.

And BoyleSports are on to a media winner with its betting on the next country that will follow Australia’s lead and not replace Queen Elizabeth II with an image of King Charles on its banknotes.

The late Monarch once appeared on banknotes in 33 countries. Her son and successor remains Head of State in 14 Commonwealth realms outside of the UK. However, odds of 4/6 suggest the British monarch’s image will soon be scrapped from the legal tender in the Caribbean, where countries like Jamaica, Bermuda, Trinidad & Tobago, and the Seychelles have replaced royal portraits with images of national heroes, wildlife, or coats of arms.

The Australian $5 bill was the only remaining banknote in the country to feature an image of Queen Elizabeth II. But her passing triggered a debate on its future as a constitutional monarchy, and the Reserve Bank of Australia said the new design would “honor the culture and history of the First Australians”.

Now other major nations are being backed to phase out the tradition, with New Zealand cut into 6/4 from 5/1 to follow in its neighbor’s footsteps. Canada is 7/1 (from 20/1) and is BoyleSports third favorite to be the next country to remove the monarch from its banknotes.
