The UK headquartered Sportech, under the new deal, will replace IGB’s Series Tote to the enhanced Quantum platform.

Sportech has also committed to developing greyhound racing-specific features for the system.

The director of Tote and wagering at IGB, Joe Lewins stated that Sportech had been an excellent technology partner to IGB for many years and they were looking forward to a continued productive relationship.

Lewis said the extension and the added facilities of the upgrade would enhance the customer’s enjoyment, saying;

The Irish Greyhound Board is happy to be making this important investment in our betting operation with the upgrade to Sportech’s Quantum Tote and look forward to delivering an overall improved betting experience to our players. Joe Lewins, Director of Tote and Wagering IGB

The comments by Lewin were echoed by Sportech’s VP of sales and business development, Bruno Gay who said the upgrade would “extend the power of Quantum System to IGB and to offer them the pools, market reach and operational tools”. The VP said the company was very happy with the deal and was confident that the agreement would help the IGB maximise their potential. Like Lewin, Gay said the company were looking forward to a continued strong business partnership with IGB.

The deal announced with the Irish Greyhound Board is one of many the UK based company has made over a busy few years for the company. Sportech’s Racing and Digital division have been so successful marketing the state-of-the-art Quantum System that it is now the most widely deployed Tote betting software in the world.

In December last year, Sportech Racing and Digital announced that it successfully launched tote services at the Royal St. Lucia Turf Club for the Sportech client, UK Tote Group. Also using the Quantum system, the hosting and operational services were provided from the company via its global network of data centres. The company revealed that it had delivered the new services at the course by utilising its experienced technical and operations teams from both the USA and Europe.

Benefits for visitors at the Caribbean course, which is valued over $6bn, include a full-service teller betting option with Sportech’s proprietary betting device software which includes the company’s roaming teller Walk About device. The course, which spans 1,000 acres across three sites, is also using Sportech’s IPTV product to enable the course to simulcast footage of races.
