Betdaq Review 2026: Commission, Odds & Our Verdict
Betdaq is the UK’s second-largest betting exchange, operated by Exchange Platform Solutions Limited on a full UK Gambling Commission licence. Founded in 2000 by Irish businessman Dermot Desmond, sold to Ladbrokes in 2013 and bought back by Desmond in 2021, it trades independently again today. We tested its commission, prices, liquidity and apps. The short version: the cheapest commission of any major exchange and excellent racing value, held back by mobile apps that badly need work.

Betdaq Welcome Offer & Promotions
What Is the Betdaq Welcome Offer?
Betdaq’s welcome offer gives new customers 0% commission on all exchange sports for 100 days. You need to enter promo code 0COMM100 when you register and fund the account with a debit card to qualify, and after the 100 days are up the standard 2% commission rate applies. It is an unusual welcome for UK betting, because the saving comes upfront on every trade rather than arriving as a fixed free bet. Heavy stakers can get a great deal out of it, while occasional punters will see far less back. The offer is available to UK and Irish customers only, and isn’t available to API, RDT or trading software customers. Full T&Cs apply. Please gamble responsibly. GambleAware.org 18+
More Betdaq Promotions
Beyond the welcome offer, the promotions list is short, which is normal for an exchange: the low commission is the offer. If you would rather have a conventional free bet and regular bookmaker price boosts, a traditional sportsbook such as 247bet is the better fit. You can compare the wider market on our betting offers page.
Sports, Markets & App
Betdaq carries around 18 sports, with roughly 16,000 markets live on a typical day. Horse racing is the heart of it, covering the daily UK and Irish cards plus the Grand National, Epsom Derby and Melbourne Cup, and this is where the money sits. Football is the other big pool, with about 56 markets on a Premier League fixture, and tennis, cricket, golf, rugby, darts, snooker and greyhounds fill out the rest. Coverage of US sports and motorsport is thin, and there is no bet builder. The exchange minimum stake is just £0.10, so you can size positions precisely.
In-play betting is available across the main sports, with cash out and in-play visualisations on selected markets. Live streaming covers UK and Irish horse racing and greyhounds, which is a meaningful improvement on having none at all, though it is a long way short of what Betfair streams. The multiples feature lets you fold several exchange selections into one bet, which not every exchange supports. On mobile there are iOS and Android apps alongside the mobile site, and this is the platform’s weak point: users report freezing, crashes and a dated interface, and the app store scores reflect that.

An exchange does not build a margin into its prices, so the headline odds are consistently better than a bookmaker’s. What you pay instead is commission, and Betdaq charges 2% of your net winnings on a market, applied only when you win. That is less than half Betfair’s 5% default rate and it is the single strongest reason to hold an account here. Our measured payout levels below run close to 99% on the biggest markets, which no fixed-odds bookmaker gets near.
The trade-off is liquidity. Betdaq holds roughly 7% of the exchange market against Betfair’s dominant share, and while more than £75 million is matched each week, that money concentrates on racing and major football. Get into a smaller league or a niche sport and you will find thinner books and slower fills, particularly if you are trying to place a large stake. Close to the off on a UK or Irish race, though, liquidity is reliable and the prices are excellent.

Payments & Withdrawals
The banking list covers the essentials without being generous. Debit cards, PayPal and Skrill are the main options, with Neteller and bank transfer also accepted. Minimums vary by method, and nothing is charged by the site itself. E-wallet withdrawals cleared within a day in our testing while card payouts took two to three working days, and there is no cap on how much you can take out. One thing to watch: the welcome offer only qualifies on debit card deposits, so fund the account with a card if you want the commission back.

Is Betdaq Safe and Legit?
Yes. Betdaq is operated by Exchange Platform Solutions Limited, registered in Alderney at Millennium House, Olliver Street, and licensed by the UK Gambling Commission under account number 34865, with additional regulation from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission. The business runs from Dublin with a Gibraltar office, and has been owned outright by founder Dermot Desmond since he bought it back in 2021. Transactions are encrypted, identity checks follow standard KYC rules, and the company works with GamCare on problem gambling. Support runs seven days a week from 09:00 to 19:30 through live chat, email at helpdesk@betdaq.com and a UK freephone line on 0800 473 0009, with a limited phone service outside those hours. Round-the-clock cover would be better for an exchange where positions move quickly.
What Betdaq Users Say
Betdaq holds a 4.4 out of 5 Trustpilot score across more than 1,650 reviews, which is unusually strong for a UK betting brand. Customers single out the support team by name and praise how quickly withdrawals are settled. The app stores tell a different story: the iOS app sits at 1.6 out of 5, with reviewers describing pages freezing, repeated crashes and having to reinstall. Account suspensions during verification come up on both. The pattern is consistent, so read it as a company whose people and pricing land well while its mobile software lags behind.
Verdict: The Cheapest Exchange, If You Can Live With the App
Betdaq does the thing an exchange exists to do, and does it for less than anyone else. A 2% commission rate, prices near 99% payout on the main markets and dependable racing liquidity add up to genuine long-term value, particularly for punters who bet regularly on UK and Irish racing. The apps are the obvious weakness and the liquidity thins out on smaller sports, so it works best as a second account held for price rather than a sole home for your betting. Judged on cost alone it remains one of the sharpest options among the UK’s best betting sites.
